๐Ÿ’ก Factorisation Tips

Factorisation means writing an expression as a product of its factors.

Steps:

  1. Find the Highest Common Factor (HCF) of all terms
  2. Divide each term by the HCF
  3. Write as: HCF ร— (remaining terms)

Example: 8x + 32y
HCF of 8 and 32 = 8
8x รท 8 = x, 32y รท 8 = 4y
Answer: 8(x + 4y)
