💡 Adding Algebraic Fractions

Steps to add fractions with different denominators:

  1. Find the Lowest Common Denominator (LCD)
  2. Convert each fraction to equivalent fractions with LCD
  3. Add the numerators
  4. Simplify if possible

Example:
2/3x + 3y/7
LCD = 21x
= 2×7/21x + 3y×3x/21x
= 14/21x + 9xy/21x
= (14 + 9xy)/(21x)
