- Layout
 
- The arrangement of visual elements on a page.
 
- Determines how text, images, and whitespace are organized to create a visually appealing and functional design.
 
- Colour
 
- Adds mood, emotion, and emphasis to a design.
 
- Involves colour theory (hue, saturation, brightness) and the use of colour schemes (complementary, analogous, monochromatic, etc.).
 
- Helps with branding, readability, theme/meaning and guiding the viewer’s eye.
 
- Illustration
 
- Hand-drawn or digital artwork used to enhance or communicate a message visually.
 
- They can be stylized, realistic, abstract, or symbolic.
 
- Lettering
 
- The art of drawing or designing letters rather than using pre-made fonts.
 
- Includes calligraphy, hand-lettering, and custom typography.
 
- The letters can be stylized for emphasis on the message or to add personality and uniqueness to a design.
 
- It's important to consider spacing between letters, words and lines when constructing lettering.
