Identifying thousandths

In groups of three:

Complete the table.

Note

The number 1 thousandth is $\frac{1}{1000} = 0.001$

Other thousandths are:

2 thousandths is $\frac{2}{1000} = 0.002$

5 thousandths is $\frac{5}{1000} = 0.005$

17 thousandths is $\frac{17}{1000} = 0.017$

Example 1

Write each of the following as decimals:

$\frac{3}{1000}$

$\frac{3}{1000} = 0.003$

$\frac{21}{1000}$

$\frac{21}{1000} = 0.021$

$\frac{238}{1000}$

$\frac{238}{1000} = 0.238$
