Division of grams and kilograms by whole numbers

Divide 18 kg 360 g by 6.

In groups of four:

  1. Arrange the division in a vertical form.
  2. Divide 18 kg by 6.

Example 8

Syombua had 50 kg 520 g of peas. She packed the peas in 5 packets of equal mass. What was the mass of each packet?

  1. Total mass of peas:
    ​ 50 kg 520 g
  2. Mass of each packet:
    50 kg 520 g ÷ 5

Mass of each packet was 10 kg 104 g
