In pairs:
- Trace the unit angle provided.
- Divide the unit angle into 10 equal parts as shown:
- Cut it out.
- Use the cut-out to measure angles in the environment.
- Discuss the results and share with other groups.
Note
The unit angle was 10º. Each division is one degree written as 1º.
Example 2
Use the unit angle to measure each of the following in degrees:
- 8º
- 8 small sectors fit in the angle.
- 1 small sector is 1º.
- Size of the angle is 8º.
- 30º
- 3 unit angles fit in the angle.
- 1 unit angle is 10º.
- The angle is 30º.
