Reading and writing numbers up to 50 000 in words

In groups of three:

  1. Take the number 2 564.
  2. Complete the statement:

  3. Read the number and write it in words.

  5. Write the numbers in words.
  6. Discuss the results and share with other groups.

36 425 =30 000+6 000⏟thirty six thousands+400+20+5⏟twenty five

Note

36 425 = 30 000 + 6 000 + 400 + 20 + 5 in an expanded form.
