In pairs, find the total length of the two sections.
The length of two road sections is 3 km 500 m and 2 km 800 m.
- Set the addition of the two sections vertically.
- First add the metres. What do you notice?
- Regroup the metres into km and metres.
- Write the metres in the metres column and transfer the km to km column.
- Add the km.
- Discuss the results and share with other groups.
